History and Milestones
Foundation: The institute’s establishment in October 1990 marked a crucial step in advancing medical education in the region.
Renaming: In March 1991, the Presidium of the Bukhara Regional Council of People’s Deputies bestowed the name “Abu Ali ibn Sino” upon the institute.
Faculty Development:
Faculty of Medicine: Established in 1991.
Faculty of Dentistry: Founded in 1992.
Department of Highly Qualified Nurses: Established in 1999.
Department of Medical Pedagogy: Created in 2001.
Department of Pediatrics: Added in 2016.

Bashkir State Medical University, established in 1932, is one of the leading medical universities in the Russian Federation and the center of medical and pharmaceutical sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
At first, there was only one faculty – Faculty of General Medicine. In 1961 Faculty of Pediatrics was created, in 1970 – Faculty of Preventive Medicine (later renamed to Faculty of Preventive Medicine and Microbiology), in 1976 – Faculty of Dentistry, in 1981 – Faculty of Pharmacy.
In 2010 Ufa Medical College became a part of BSMU.
Nowadays BSMU includes five faculties:

There are over 8000 medical students, including more than 850 foreign students from 40 countries, about 1000 clinical residences and PhD programs and 7000 postgraduate professional trainings in our University. BSMU also includes the medical college, which offers vocational secondary education in specialties of Nursing and Prosthetic Dentistry.
University has the United Center of Simulation-Based Training, equipped with state-of-art simulators, where students, clinical residents and physicians of BSMU can enhance their practical skills in neonatology, anesthesiology, resuscitation, obstetrics and gynecology, endoscopy, neurosurgery. Since 2016 there is the Center in BSMU for primary accreditation of doctors and pharmacists.
BSMU is a large scientific center, where basic and applied research is carried out. Scientific infrastructure of BSMU includes Central Scientific Research Laboratory, Cell Culture Laboratory, Laboratory of Experimental Surgery, Vivarium, Scientific Research Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, Scientific Research Institute of Oncology. BSMU Scientific library stores about 527 000 items and it is one of the best medical libraries in Russia. Bashkir State Medical University cooperates with RUSNANO’s PET Center in Ufa, training specialists in the field of nuclear medicine.
BSMU is also known for training of over 700 volunteers for Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2014 in Sochi.
International Medical University, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
The International Medical University is an innovative educational and research institution of higher education, which has an international status and has passed the independent accreditation of educational institutions and programs "SAPATTUU BILIM". The International Medical University is included in the directory of the World Health Organization, as well as in the list of the educational commission for foreign graduates of medical universities in the United States. The diplomas of our university are recognized in the CIS countries, India, Pakistan, the USA and Canada.
The university has a highly qualified teaching staff in accordance with the requirements of the state educational standards of the Kyrgyz Republic with training and teaching in Russian and in English. Meetings with scientists from near and far abroad are also held on a regular basis. Scientists from England, Germany, Russia and Kazakhstan have visited to give lectures and interact with the students.
Today, the university includes 3 faculties: General Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy. The whole complex includes residency, a College of Medicine and a Pharmacy, a modern clinic Avicenna medical, TV studio and more than 2000 students from near and far abroad. The university has 9 educational and experimental laboratories equipped with advanced innovative equipment: pathological physiology, microbiology, histology and pathological anatomy. There is a vivarium for scientific and experimental work, an anatomical museum was also launched with more than 100 plastinated exhibits of human and animal organs

ESTABLISHMENT OF MEDICAL FACULTY OF TURKESTAN STATE UNIVERSITY
The People’s Commissariat of Health was established as a part of the Council of People’s Commissars on July 11, 1918.The foundation of the Medicine of Turkestan was based on during that period. The People’s Commissariat of Health made several important decisions in the field of healthcare in the first years of its activity. One of them is the approval on March 13, 1919 of the Regulations on the management of medical institutions in the Republic of Turkestan. On April 13, 1919, a decision was made to organize a medical faculty as the part of the Turkestan State University. On September 17, 1919, at the first academic council of Turkestan State University, Professor P.P. Sitkovsky was appointed as a dean of the new medical faculty and K.G. Khrushyev as a deputy. 1919-1921 was the organizational period of the faculty, when its material and technical base were being created. During that period I.V. Davidovsky, A.N. Kryukov, P.P. Sitkovsky, V.F. Voyno-Yasenetskiy, K.G. Khrushyev, G.B. Berlatskiy had worked as the heads. S.N. Naumov, M.I. Prozin, G.G. Shcheglov, A.V. Miller, V.K. Arkadyev, I.P. Rojdestvensky, S.E. Zimmerman, A.A. Yudin, E.M. Shlyahtin, O.B. Lepeshinskaya, I.A. Smorodintsev, M.A. Zaharchenko, V.V. Vasilyevsky, M.S. Astrov, M.M. Nevyadomsky, G.S. Bom, G.A. Ilyin, N.I. Ragoza, A.N. Murzin, I.S. Milman, N.I. Osinovsky, F.I. Walker, S.A. Molchanov, G.N. Terehov and others were invited as teachers. On May 5, 1920 the Faculty of Medicine was provided with a cadet corps for accommodation and a hospital with 500 beds.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE HISTORY AND ACTIVITIES OF ANDIJAN STATE MEDICAL INSTITUTE
Andijan State Medical Institute was established in 1955. Since it was the only higher educational institution of Fergana Valley in the medical field, a lot of work was done to establish the activities of the institute. Outstanding achievements in the development of Andijan State Medical Institute of such selfless compatriots as Yusuf Otabekovich Otabekov, Rakhim Muhammedovich Nurmukhammedov, Satkul Usmanovich Dzhumabaev and professional doctors should be noted.
Today’s successes achieved by the institute over many years of development brought it to the world level. Today, the institute prepares students at the Therapeutic, Pediatric, and Dental faculties, Advanced Training and Retraining of Physicians in directions professional education, high qualified nurses, preventive medicine , pharmacy, as well as in 29 specialties of Master’s degrees program . In particular, courses for advanced training of doctors in all areas of the valley were organized at the faculty of advanced training and retraining of physicians.
EDUCATIONAL WORK
There are 56 departments in the Institute and includes 533 professors, 36 doctors (14 of them are professors) and 130 candidates (104 of them are docents). The scientific potential of the institute is 31.7%.
There are 4 faculties: Therapeutic, Pediatrics, Dentistry and Advanced Training and Retraining of Physicians, 7 bachelor educational directions: Therapeutic, Pediatrics, Dentistry, Professional Education, High Qualified Nurses, Preventive Medicine and Pharmacy. Educational process helds in 29 specialties of Master`s degree program. According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 2909 dated April 20, 2017, two new specialties were opened in the magistracy from 2019-2020 academic year:
